Downton Abbey Season 3 Episode 2  Back at Merlotte’s, Sam has Luna-as-Sam on his lap. “You’re not going to die,” he tells her. “You have too much to live for … You mean more to me than anything. And you’re incredibly handsome.” He kisses Luna-as-Sam on her head, spawning an entirely new genre of slash fiction. Good news: Luna-as-Sam transforms back into Luna. Bad news: She gags, yells and retches.

At Alcide’s house, there is at least a full minute of growly weresex between Alcide and Rikki. “You know this doesn’t mean I’m your girlfriend,” she whispers. “I don’t remember asking,” Downton Abbey Season 3 Episode 2  he grunts back. Pause, long shared look. “You wanna be my girlfriend?” Alcide says. “Maybe.” Sookie really missed the boat on this one.

It’s the night of the packmaster challenge. Traditionally, the two contenders have to track and kill a quarry animal, but J.D. is switching things up: He’s kidnapped a track star from the local college, and they’re going to hunt him as men, not wolves. He will give the kid a Downton Abbey Season 3 Episode 2  two-minute head start. Alcide objects and drops out, thinking that will save the kid’s life. But J.D. says he’s still going to hunt the track star. Alcide tells J.D. he’s a drug addict and a disgrace, but the juiced-up J.D. pins Alcide and tells him he isn’t fit to wipe his behind. And then J.D. takes off after the track star.

In the woods, J.D. quickly catches up to the kid, but Alcide tracks them both down. J.D. attacks Alcide, walloping the heck out of him. He’s just about to smash Alcide’s head in with a rock when the rest of the pack catches up. Martha tells J.D. that killing Alcide only tarnishes the pack. J.D. Downton Abbey Season 3 Episode 2  reminds Martha that Alcide killed her son. “How can you stand up for him?” Martha: “You are better than this. At least you used to be.” J.D. tells Alcide to find a new pack.

Lafayetteis driving away from his ill-considered Mexican vacation that accomplished … what, exactly? He finds Jesus’ first-aid kit in the car, which happily contains a vial of V, which he uses to heal the puncture marks around his mouth. Next thing we know, Jesus is sitting in the seat beside him, and in a happy change of pace, it’s the whole Jesus, not just his head. “Thanks,” Lafayettesays. Jesus, looking straight ahead and smiling a wistful Downton Abbey Season 3 Episode 2  smile, says, “For what?”Lafayette: “Are you for (bleeping) real?” Jesus, holding out his hand: “Does it matter?”Lafayette grabs his hand and starts driving again.

Of course, Lafayettemakes excellent time back to Bon Temps. He’s headed inside his house when Arlene and Holly show up and ask him to use his medium powers to convince Terry that the Iraqi woman who cursed him has forgiven him, even if Lafayetteis just pretending to commune with Downton Abbey Season 3 Episode 2  the dead woman. Arlene gets Terry and Patrick back to the Bellefleur mansion by claiming there’s a fire. When they arrive, she and Holly explain that Lafayettemight be able to break the curse. Lafayette, in full Whoopi Goldberg-in-”Ghost” mode, pretends to speak to the Iraqi woman, telling her that Terry and Patrick are good men and sorry about what they’ve Downton Abbey Season 3 Episode 2  done. ThenLafayette realizes that the woman is there for real. And she’s pissed. “The spirit is saying she’ll lift the curse if …”Lafayette turns around, and sees Zaafira in her blood-spattered robe. Zaafira possessesLafayette long enough to say something in Arabic, thenLafayette spits her out again. He tells Terry that he’s got to kill Patrick, or Patrick has to kill him. Patrick takes this as his cue to leave — fast. (Kristin Bauer von Straten) gives Tara (Rutina Wesley) a reward.

Meanwhile, Tracy, the bitchy blond shopkeeper who got on Jessica’s bad side a few s back, turns up at Fangtasia and starts needling Tara, who’s on Downton Abbey Season 3 Episode 2  bartender duty. “I am so relieved to see you holding down a steady job,” she tells Tara, and when Tara gives her the strawberry daiquiri she ordered,Tracy then insists that she really ordered a vodka tonic. “If you’re too lazy to fix your own mistake …”Tara starts to snap: “I’m gonna rip open your heart and fry it up with some grits and collard greens.” But Pam intervenes smoothy, givingTracy the drink on the house, and givingTara a stern warning.

Later, Pam brings Downton Abbey Season 3 Episode 2  Tara down into the dungeon, ostensibly to give her a talking-to about her attitude. But really she has a gift: Tracy, chained up. “I thought you were mad,” Tara says. “My made face and my happy face are the same,” Pam deadpans. She then glamors Tracy into being Tara’s willing “unpaid food whore.” Tara digs in. I vote Patrick! Sorry getting ahead of myself. So this was a nice , but not amazing. Looks like things aren’t going to get going until this vampire war starts. That war might start next week based on next week’s preview. Again, Downton Abbey Season 3 Episode 2  let me not get too far ahead, and focus my thoughts on  8, “Somebody That I Used to Know.”
